Swingin’ X-tras

Together with Hannes Gajowski, Nico Klöffer has been playing for the Lindy Hoppers in Saarbrücken and Bonn for several years now. This year, the two are back in Cologne and, as with Hop into Summer two years ago, have teamed up again with Vincent Pinn and two other musicians from the Cologne scene: Carlotta Armbruster and Mathieu Clement. The new quintet will be performing a personal selection of their favorite tunes from the swing era and will also have one or two specials.

  • Ari Beltrán & Simon Bressanelli

    Ari and Simon are swing dance teachers, performers and choreographers. Primarily focused on Lindy Hop and Authentic Jazz. They are passionate about these dance forms, especially in the context of their cultural traditions, their values and their place as an artform. Working together since 2016, they are now based in Madrid working globally.

    They are an energetic and rhythmical couple who love the interplay between the individual, the music and the partner during a dance and how it can develop into a beautiful conversation.

    They hold titles from the International Lindy Hop Championships, The Savoy Cup and The Korean Lindy Hop Championships, among others. Their passion for the dance and the culture of swing has grown with them and is something they constantly strive to develop and express, whether in classes, on stage or in competition.

    César Cano

    César comes from Mallorca (Spain), but he is currently based in Montpellier (France). He had his first contact with swing dancing in his early twenties. In 2016, he fell in love with Lindy Hop, when he discovered that it is a language on its own through which you can communicate with others.

    From then on he became a passionate of the swing culture and dances (specially Lindy Hop, Solo Jazz and Tap dancing). He travels continuously nationally and internationally to improve his dancing and teaching skills.

    His dance is based on freedom, improvisation and rhythm. César has a relaxed and soft dance but also expansive and frenetic. Often complementing it with rhythms inspired from tap dancing.

    Marion Berens

    Marion started dancing Lindy Hop and Solo Jazz in 2009 and has been teaching locally since 2012. Together with Stephan, she runs a small small dance school in Cologne (5678-koeln.de) and they are invited to teach at events organised in Cologne and nearby towns, including some classes outside of Germany.

    In addition to her work as an instructor, Marion has been leading a Lindy Hop and Solo Jazz project at her high school for many years, coordinating numerous student performances and fostering a love for Lindy Hop among the kids.

    Passionate about continuous growth as a dancer and teacher, Marion has travelled extensively, both nationally and internationally, to take classes in Lindy Hop, Solo Jazz, and Tap, as well as exploring related dance styles.
